Department of Medical Services was founded in the year 2006. This department is mainly responsible for managing services at all Health Facilities in the periphery of Maldives (i.e.  except Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital/IGMH).After two years of hard work DMS is now walking the path of fulfilling its main goal which is to develop, establish and sustain good health quality services that are affordable and accessible to all residents in the area in which they live.

Skin and eye camp to be held at Sh atoll and N atoll
An Eye and Skin Camp will be held at SH atoll and N atoll starting from 16 November 2008 to 23 November 2008. These camps which are held especially for F and DH atoll were held collaboratively by the Ministry of Health, DMS, IGMH, SH Atoll Hospital and N Atoll Hospital. Medical Treatment for patients will be provided by a team of doctors from IGMH. People from these two atolls who had requested for treatment of these diseases will be treated in this camp. A total of 143 people from SHAH and 144 people from NAH have been registered to be treated at these camps.

A Urology And Psychiatry Camp Held at 2 Atolls

A Urology and Psychiatry Camp was held at F atoll and DH atoll starting from 29th July 2008 to 3rd August 2008. These camps which are held especially for F and DH atoll were held collaboratively by the Ministry of Health, DMS, IGMH, F Atoll Hospital and DH Atoll Hospital. Medical Treatment for patients were provided by a team of doctors from IGMH.  People from the two atolls who had requested for treatment of these diseases will be treated in this camp. A total of 67 people from FAH and 45 people from DHAH were treated at these camps. Other medical camps which were held in august include :




  1.  Psychiatry and skin camp which were held at Gn and S atoll and
  2.  Eye and Urology camp at B and Lh atoll.
